This marked the date in 1917 that Eddie “Knuckles” Cicotte of the White Sox threw a no-hitter against the St. Louis Browns. It was his first start of the year, and the first of what would eventually be a league-leading 28 wins that season. For good measure, Cicotte also went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in 2 runs.
