Bobby Richardson, second baseman for the Yankees from the mid-1950s through the mid-1960s, turned 89 on Monday. I wrote a bit about the best second basemen in Yankees history a couple of weeks ago when discussing Willie Randolph and I didn’t even mention Richardson as a contender for the title. That’s something I should probably explain a bit more.
