Don’t be shocked if I someday transition from doing a series called “Educating Twitter” to one called “Snipping Threads” or “From the Clear BlueSky”, or some other pithy title that sounds better with the names of those platforms. While I still use Twitter, I’ve been finding better baseball content over on the other platforms, Threads in particular, so I’ll likely be shifting that particular series around at some point.

That’s not happening soon, but what did happen was I came across a spectacular video on Threads in which a guy called the Glove Reviver completely refurbished a vintage Wilson glove from the 1970s, a Wilbur Wood autograph edition to be exact. The whole thing was glorious, and I encourage you to watch it.

I have a soft spot for Wilbur Wood, for many reasons. First, he’s from basically the same place as me, the western suburbs of Boston. He grew up in Belmont, which is also the first place I lived before we moved even further west to Waltham, and then even further west to Kansas City. Wood was also a lefty (even though that glove with his name on it in the video was for a righty), and not terribly big, and his last name began with a W, and he really wanted to play for the Red Sox. We have a lot in common.
