Educating Twitter: Painting Silvio García

If you’re a baseball fan (and I assume you are since you’re reading this) and haven’t seen the fabulous artwork of Graig Kreindler, do yourself a favor and check out his website, or his Twitter account, or his Threads or Instagram feeds. They’re full of remarkable paintings of great ballplayers. That includes this recent post about his new painting of Silvio García.

Kreindler is right to question whether most people have heard of Garcia, because his baseball career defies the sort of ease we’ve come to expect in looking up statistics and comparing him to other players. He played most of his career in various Latin American leagues, and so we don’t have a perfect record of his career.
