Vic Raschi deserves to be remembered, if only because the fireballing native of Springfield, MA, home of the main armory where rifles were made for the U.S. Army for decades, had one of the greatest nicknames ever: “The Springfield Rifle,” a perfect combination of his hometown and his signature fastball.
On top of that, Raschi was damn good.
